Hardscapes & Stonework
At Encore Landscaping, we design hardscapes and stonework features that are well integrated within the entire property. The ideal size, shape and location of a patio is determined by looking at how your family will use the space, circulation patterns to different areas of your yard, and driveway, window and door placement. The number of people and the size and type of furniture is taken into account to provide adequate circulation room as we would with interior furniture placement. We specialize in problem solving and providing customized, creative, and functional designs and solutions that also beautify your outdoor spaces.
We always take into account the movement and direction of surface water on your property. Environmentally sound recommendations are to spread out and slow down the flow of water so that it is absorbed locally and doesn’t run into storm drains, polluting our streams and rivers with contaminants. Our landscape plans direct surface water to irrigate your planting beds whenever possible, and keep water off of your pavement. We can also create rain gardens that like this extra amount of irrigation and use pavers, edging, stone and mulch to contain it long enough to be absorbed.
Our hardscapes and stonework projects typically contain two or more of the following features:
Paver sidewalks, natural stone garden pathways
Patios with sitting walls, fire pits and pillars, with or without lighting
Boulders and berms for accent and protection
Crushed stone and mulch walkways with stepping stones
Low accent walls and retaining walls
Edgestone borders and accent stonework
Stone riverbeds for drainage and accent features
Fencing for accent or camouflage
